Almost time for check out...

41 weeks and still counting...I had a Dr appointment yesterday and I am definitely still pregnant. They did an ultrasound and non stress test to check Emryn to make sure she is doing ok in hotel utero. she loves it in there! she was so happy in the ultrasound moving all around and waving her feet and hands. she looks pretty cute. we got some updated photos of her face and ill post those soon. she did well in the non stress test as well. the hooked my belly up to monitors and for 20 minutes kept track of her heartbeat. every time she would make a move i would have to click a button to track her movements. at times she was quiet so the tech gave me ome cold water to get her to move. she also put a taser like thing to my belly to get her going. it worked! she was then moving like crazy at the end of the test. she did really well and the Dr was pleased.

im only 1 cm dialated so Dr Baker thinks I need some help in getting this labor going. Im checking into the hospital tonight at 8 PM to be induced! finally. hopefully this labor wont be too terrible. im anticipating a long couple of days ahead. today we are relaxing and preparing to head to the hospital. bags are packed and we are ready to go!

Dear Tea....

On the 4th of July Tim and I spent the day with Caroline and Brendan. Brendan was the grill master and we had a terrific July 4th BBQ. I made a blueberry and strawberry pie that was delicious. It was my first attempt at making a pie and it was pretty good. While the boys were out on the patio putting a dent in the cooler, Caroline and I sat inside on the couch watching the Pops and flipping back and forth with the NYC fireworks. It was a wild 4th for us!

Caroline's mom had sent some chinese tea that her sister got at a shower. The chinese woman who gave the tea told her to drink this tea for good luck. In the cannister there were these pod like seed things that you drop into the hot water. Slowly inside the cup opened this large scary looking flower. Caroline and I each had some sips and before drinking said "Dear Tea..." we both wished for easy deliveries and healthy babies. I wish I had a cup of chinese good luck tea right about now. I would wish for contractions to get this baby moving!

Maternity Leave Here I come!

Today is my last day of work! I start my maternity leave and couldnt be more excited. Next week I plan on doing lots of walking, stair climbing, sleeping, and maybe going to a movie or two. Anything I can possibly do to entertain myself as well as hurry this delivery along! Bring on the contractions. Ill be back to Northeastern in October....seems like so far away but I know the time will fly by. Im looking forward to meeting miss Emryn and spending some time with her this summer. Bye, bye NU!

Pretty Girl

Taboule our three year old boxer loves to play dress up. Her friend Felix was over for a play date and they both wanted to dress in some of Emryn's clothes. Taboule cant wait to meet her new little sister!

Taking one for the team...

We haven't taken too many pictures of my belly along the way. At 32 weeks we decided it was time for a photo shoot. Tim wanted in on the action. At the beginning of my pregnancy he was loosing weight and neighbors and friends would comment. I would get so mad! He could loose weight just by thinking about it and the pounds were piling on me. Not fair. Later in my pregnancy he started putting on a few again. It was probably all of those ice cream and cookie treats I would make him get me at the grocery store!

Splish, Splash

Last night Stacy, Caroline, and I went to water aerobics. Caroline and I have been going once a week throughout our pregnancies. A small little indoor pool in Danvers. $8 a class and worth every penny. We feel so light in the water! All of the old ladies love to ask us how we are feeling and when we are due. Wonder if I will make it to next weeks class?! Come on Emryn...I was hoping last nights class would get you moving!

Cravings

My pregnancy started out with fruit cravings. Couldn't get enough of citrus! I ate so much fruit that I would get sores around my mouth from grapefruit, pineapple, bananas, grapes, apples, etc.

Something happened as I entered my third trimester....it changed from citrus to chocolate. Cookies, ice cream, drumsticks, Dairy Queen, anything sweet. One day I ate 15 cookies!

Today I would love to taste test a bunch of these chocolates from Switzerland!

Sweet Things From Pop

Tim has been very thoughtful throughout my pregnancy. On my birthday, he had my cake dedicated to me as mama. For the first two trimesters when I would enter a new week on Fridays I would get a boqueet of flowers and a card. Each note would be so sweet and encouraging. I saved all of these notes for you Emryn to read one day....we are lucky to have Pop.

Bye Bye Truck, Hello Camry!

This weekend Tim and I went car shopping. It was time to get rid of Tim's Chevy Silverado (goodbye Debbie truck) and look for a vehicle that was more family friendly. 9 months pregnant and not so easy to get up into a big truck. Each time I would get in Tim would have to hoist me up on to the seat. Taboule and Emryn are going to love the new ride. We pick up our new 2010 black Camry on Friday!

ITS A GIRL!

At our last ultrasound on February 13, 2009, we found out that we were having a little girl! We were both so excited to hear it was a girl. I had mothers instinct from the beginning and knew it was a girl. We were thrilled to hear she was healthy at 18 weeks along. Thank goodness its a girl because we couldnt agree on a boys name. Emryn Elizabeth McCarty we both agreed on right away.

Sneak Peak at Baby McCarty

Our first snap shot of baby McCarty on December 1, 2008

Second ultrasound on January 5, 2009....I was hoping we would be able to find out if it was a boy or a girl...no such luck as it was too early on. I thought it would have been the best birthday present ever!

Two Weeks And Counting

July 16, 2009 is only two weeks away. Each day I wake up wondering if today is going to be the day that Tim and I finally get to meet our little one. 38 weeks and Im ready for her to be welcomed into the world. We have spent many hours wondering and dreaming of what she will look like. Will she have hair? What color of eyes? Will she have Tim's lips and my nose? Hopefully sooner than later we will be able to meet little miss Emryn Elizabeth McCarty.

I can't wait to experience this next chapter and the countless memories with Tim. He is so excited to be a dad. She will have him wrapped around her little finger from the moment she enters the world. Our family is growing and this will be a great place to start documenting those memories. Tim, I love you and I cant wait for this next chapter......
